It was the Cuban Independence Day while I was in Trinidad, and I started writing this song while sitting on a park bench watching an old woman suck on ice from a water bottle. The mother of the woman I was staying with had a piano in her house, so I went over there to write the music. This is a recording from that day, just after having written the song. I thought it wasn't finished, but I haven't been able to add anything on to it. I think it's a complete thought now, so why not include the original recording of it?
